A QUICK NOTE ABOUT GAVIN GRAY
Gavin Gray has spent over four decades in the business, tuned and serviced countless pianos around Victoria and is one of Melbourne busiest and most trusted piano experts.
A Qualified Piano Technician since 1985, Gavin holds a Certificate in Piano Tech from NMIT and is ARPT and Yamaha qualified.
He has mastered the art and science of piano technology and has tutored some of the industry’s top members.
Gavin is the house tuner for the Victorian Opera, Ormond Hall, Melbourne University, Victorian Arts Centre, NMIT, Wesley College, The Jazz Lab, Bennetts Lane and many other schools, studios and festivals. He also served in this capacity for the Melbourne season of Chicago.
In 2017 he refurbished and then maintained all 22 instruments used over the full course of the Melbourne Arts Centre’s “Play Me I’m Yours” street piano festival.
Gavin is also the ‘tuner of choice’ for an array of Melbourne’s most notable professionals and venuesand has been called to tune for such touring artists as:

A professional musician in his own right, Gavin Gray has played percussion, piano and vocals with many bands, shows and artists over his career, including the Pearly Shells, the Scaredies, Oxo Cubans, Bob Downe, Ross Hannaford and Wilbur Wilde.
Gavin brings a professional musician’s ear to his piano tunings, always sensitive to the overall balance of sound, and strives for the best possible aesthetic with each instrument.
